Mr. Charles Worthington Sanders, age 83, of Charlotte, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at Avant Presbyterian Health Medical Center. He was a native of Johnston County and the son of the late Mr. Odie Allison and Dorothea Campbell Sanders. Charles was the brother of nineteen siblings, twelve preceding him.

He was a 1958 graduate of Johnston County Training High School and the former North Carolina College, Durham, NC. Charles taught English and Literature in the Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools for more than thirty years.

He leaves precious memories to his wife of fifty-three years, Brenda Long Sanders of the home, Charlotte, NC. One brother, Odie Sanders, Baltimore, MD. Five sisters: Ora McCleary Baltimore, MD. Eula Barnes Clayton, NC Malinda Smith (William) Creedmoor, NC Annette Williams (Ulice) Raleigh, NC Gwendolyn Love (Charles) Charlotte, NC. A host of nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives, friends. One sister-in-law, Veral Sanders Portsmouth, VA.

Funeral services for Charles will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Rock Hill AME Zion Church, 2723 Lawyers Road West Indian Trail, NC. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 12:00 noon. Service will follow.
